MCLEAN, VA. – FEBRUARY 12, 2018 -- Dori Familiant has been appointed general manager of Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, according to Doug Gehret, Area Vice President, Park Hotels.  Located in the Northern Virginia Technology corridor close to many major corporate headquarters, including Hilton headquarters, the 458-room hotel serves as an Innovation Hub where many of new meeting, guest room, service, technology and food and beverage concepts are tested.  His appointment is effective immediately and he will oversee the day-to-day operations of Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

Prior to this appointment, Familiant held the general manager position at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC-Crystal City where, over the last eight years, he spearheaded the hotel’s complete renovation and upgrades. Under his leadership, the hotel was recognized for best-improved SALT performance for Hilton in 2015.  From 2007 to 2009, Familiant served as general manager of Hilton Irvine/Orange County Airport and was involved in all phases of the hotel’s $18.5 million renovations. There he also initiated Team Members training and utilized various motivational tools that led to measurable improvements in Guest satisfaction. Familiant began his career with Hyatt as a management trainee and held a variety of management positions across the US including a general manager position in Houston and Firesky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ.  In 2005, he joined Hilton as general manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Scottsdale.

A graduate of Washington State University, with a B.A. in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Familiant is involved with the Metro D.C.  hospitality community, serving as a board member of the Crystal City Business Improvement District, Commissioner of the Arlington Economic Development Commission, Chairperson of Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Hotel GM committee and Executive Committee member of the Northern Virginia Hotel Association.
